Mark Twain said “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the winds in your sails.”   Tillinghast Manor Bed & Brunch is nestled between the Cayuga and Seneca Lake Wine Trails. We are conveniently located to many places you can Explore, Discover and Dream.  You can sail away on the Love Tall ship or dine on Captain Bills.  We can guide you in discovering beautiful gorges at Watkins Glen and Ithaca’s Taughannock Falls. You can kayak the Erie Canal, Lodi Point State Park, or Montezuma Wildlife Refuge. You can experience history at the Women’s Rights National Park, the Memorial Day Museum, and International Motor Racing Research Center.

The Finger Lakes wine region is host to more than 120 wineries. The “Wine Down” experience is especially important to us. We partner with our favorites to provide you with tasting coupons and personalized tours. We have our favorite Riesling, Cabernet Franc and Rose waiting for you when you walk through the doors of Tillinghast Manor. Our goal is for you to leave your cares behind and “chill-lax”. You can sit on our patio around the fire enjoying your favorite “adult beverage” and watch the Amish Buggies clatter down Main Street.

Mike and Jean purchased the Manor in 2017 and updated the 6,000 sq ft Italianate. Mike is a cabinet maker, and his craftsmanship is demonstrated throughout the Manor. As a business traveler, Jean stayed in hotels and BNBs across the country. With the vacation traveler in mind, we created the property as a Bed & Brunch, a unique concept. Many BNBs serve breakfast during a regimented time to allow for quick turnover of rooms.  Our philosophy is when you are on vacation, sleeping in with sweet dreams is s a much-needed pleasure.  Our four course Brunch is served at your convenience. You have your choice of dining either in your room, in one of our two dining areas or on our patio. We truly serve an abundance of fresh seasonal ingredients as Jean is a Master Gardener, and we have our own gardens. We also source Amish and Mennonite products. We love to have guests enjoy the special cultural experience of coming with us to the weekly Amish Produce Auction and Sauder’s Mennonite Market.

We love to hear from our guests what wines they have discovered and the places they have explored. Our goal is that you have enjoyed your stay so much that you want to return again and again.

The best stay we’ve had in Upstate! We stayed in the Roosevelt suite. Jean decorated the room for my husband’s birthday and even had a chilled bottle of wine and “old man” beer from local places waiting in our room. The entire house is just beautiful, and our room(s) were no exception. The bed was extremely comfortable. The en-suite bathroom was perfect. We had planned a fancy dinner out but after a busy day of exploring and tasting, we decided to order a pizza in and watched a movie in our private lounge across the hallway from our room. They hosted a bonfire on the patio, and I wish we weren’t too tired to join. A truly perfect respite for these two working parents. Would recommend to anyone. Thank you!!!
